Am i too young to be going through menopause?

Conception

I havent had my menstration for 3 months now and i m really worried why would i not have my period unless i was going through menopause??? I have had 3 kids, had my tubes tied. I am 36 yrs old.

Lori

It is rather young. However I also went straight into menopause after my tubal ligation. I suspect a connection. Ask your doc for a blood test to check your hormone levels.

Hettie

It's rare to go into menopause at 36. Have you been very stressed lately or have you gained or lost weight quickly? I really think you should get it checked out. Missing your period for three months as an adult is not really normal. I know that you've had your tubes tied but it has happened that women who have had their tubes tied have gotten pregnant so a pregnancy test wouldn't hurt. Go see a doctor though just to make sure that it's nothing serious. Keep in mind that many serious conditions can be successfully treated if caught early.

The average age for menopause is 51, but like others have mentioned, there are cases of this starting earlier. I found this great self-assessment questionnaire that may help with action steps if you are menopausal. http://www. hormonesolutions. com/patients/menopause-self-assessment. htm? a=PAG0001

I have heard of girls who are 17 having menopause so never too young. Have you had any hot flashes or other symptoms?

My mother is passing through menopause phase what should she take care of?

Pat

Currently she has no symptoms of hot flashes. Is there any specific dietary plans? what else should she take care of?

Collette

She should take a multivitamin for women over 50, Vitamin A for her eyes, Vitamin C as an antioxidant and Vitamin D plus Calcium/Magnesium for her bones. (She should consult with a naturopath or pharmacist about dosages.)She should get an annual screening mammogram and a pap smear every two years until age 70.She should see a doctor regularly for a medical check-up. She should be happy not to have hot flushes....I didn't either, some of us are lucky.

First your mom should seek the advice from a doctor. Then getting proper information on Women's Health is also very important. I personally have addressed such women's issues by regularly visiting a comprehensive website dedicated to help women. Such website contains valuable resource information on all topics related to WOMEN HEALTH, OB GYN & MEDICAL EXAM. All the information is updated daily on a continuous basis. I invite you to have a look at it. Like myself, I am convinced that you will find all the appropriate solutions/answers as well as all the precautionary means and tools to keep her in good health for many years to come. http://www. gynecography. com
