If i was 42 when i had a total hysterectomy how much longer will i have to endure menopause?

Carson

I was forced into menopause (hot flashes, night sweats) after my total hysterectomy. I use a hormone patch which works very well, but I wonder how much longer I'll have to use it.

Christian

Women who go through surgical menopause will sometimes have menopause symptoms until natural menopausal age.

What are natural foods to help eleviate the side effects of menopause?

Liane

My mom has Menopause and read somewhere or saw on TV where they said (think it was Dr. Phil) where there are foods you eat and a special diet and you don't get those terrible hot flashes all the time that my mom is currently getting. Any advice or links appreciated!

Eddie

here is a website for your mom:http://www. associatedcontent. com/article…http://altmedicine. about. com/cs/womenshe…on this one: go down to natural remedies:http://www. the-natural-menopause. com/hope that helps. I have menopause and was taking the synthetic hormones, but I didn't feel right on them, so I took the natural approach and I do feel better. I rarely get hot flashes anymore. Hope this helps your mom.

In regards to menopause and soy, this food source has been shown to be a beneficial supplement for controlling unpleasant symptoms and ensuring proper nutrition during this critical life event. Since menopause is a time of decreased estrogen, it makes sense that eating and drinking soy during menopause can help regulate the body's hormone levels. Another wonderful benefit of soy products is that it tastes great and is available in all kinds of different forms. Coffee drinkers can easily substitute soy milk for regular milk in their morning beverage. Soy milk can be used in place of cow's milk in just about every capacity. Soy milk also comes in several different flavors. Choosing the right snack can help you meet your daily requirements as well. Soy nuts, chips, and pasta all contain those helpful menopause phytoestrogen components. Combining soy with menopause treatment options helps to regulate your general overall health and give your body a hormone substitute to work with. Soy products also contain elements that are beneficial to bone and cholesterol health. Both of which will need to be watched carefully in the later years of life. With soy and menopause treatments working together, you can be assured that you are doing everything possible to safeguard your health and control the unpleasant side effects of menopause. Consider a progesterone cream like Hot Flash Freedom to assist your natural menopause treatment plan.

Get enough calcium. A woman going through menopause needs 1000 mg to 1500 mg of calcium a day. Avoid excessive amounts of salt to reduce bloating associated with hormonal changes. More information and remedies at http://useinfo4.blogspot. com/

Does weight affect how early one goes into menopause?

Patrina

I am heavy set and 39 years old. Suddenly the cycles are not regular anymore and I have had some symptoms of menopause. Hot flashes, sudden lactose intolerance, Nausea, anxiety. Anyone know if this might be menopause?

Crissy

welcome ver_jen to your new age of life! just some chemical in balance to your body when i quit smoking my body went thru major changes and stress my daughter if you remember...it was to much and my body just changed and the hot flashes were the worst for me and all of your other changes are the norm for me being epileptic those are natural for me other than the hot flashes and losing weight! good luck to you and your whole family!

Missy

I don't think weight has anything to do about when you go into menopause. You are certainly in the age range to enter what is called perimenopause, the years before you actually hit menopause. Medical definition of menopause is not having any periods for 12 months in a row. I have read where heavier women have it a bit easier with menopause as the body can convert some of the body fat into estrogens instead of having to take hormone replacements. I had what's called surgical menopause when I had a hysterectomy and due to ovarian cysts, the ovaries were removed as well. I used the hormone patches at first but they made my breasts so tender I quit using them and have not had a hot flash one and haven't taken any kind of hormones since 2003. Other than a few stray chin hairs, nothing has changed.

What is the earliest age a woman can go through menopause?

Rex

Depends ;on your family history can start as early as 30's or as late as your 50's. Just depends on family history.

Raeann

im 25 and i have started because i tied my tubes but as early as early 20s

Faviola

The average age is 50 so 40 to 60 is normal. Women as young as 25 can be entering menopause. Having a tubal has NOTHING to do with menopause. A tubal does not alter the hormones which naturally drop off at menopause, all a tubal does is cut off the pathway for an egg to reach the uterus.
