How long does menopause last? when will i start feeling better?

Deangelo

I am 45 and I think I have been dealing with the symptoms for about 2 years do i still have Much longer?

Conchita

Go to your GYN and tell what symptoms you are having. She should check your hormone levels with testing. She will tell you about natural hormone replacements, what foods to eat or not to eat and certain vitamins that might help. If she doesn't help you there are other Doctors that will. Menopause may last a long time but with your doctor's help your symptoms might get better to handle. Do some reading up on this subject too. The more knowledge you have about menopause the better you be able to decide what to take or decide what is the best treatment for you.

Doloris

My mom started menopause when she was about 48 or 49, but she was having the sypmtoms for almost 4 years. So you dont really have much long might kick in when your a bit closer to 50.

Katherin

Good gad that can last forever with some women and effects others like nothing it depends...everyone is differentYou may want to try researching a natural type of hormone replacement...certain foods and vitamin supplements can help....Heck if I knew how weird the body turns after a certain age with wild gray hairs popping out in odd places and falling bladders and getting all the odd stuff that your mom had I would have been way more wild and crazy when I was youngerway way more......

Can i go through menopause at 32 years old?

Bettyann

I am 32 years old.. About 5 years ago I had an IUD put in and my periods stopped. I had the IUD removed in December of 2005 and got pregnant in Feb of 2006. After I had my baby I got another IUD and then a little while later had my tubes tied. So I haven't really had a period in 5 years. I am having symptoms of menopause. Could I be going through menopause this early?

Eura

Yes, you could be going through early onset menopause. There are even gals in their 20's that are going through menopause. You need to go to your doctor and ask for a FSH blood test. This test will tell your hormone levels and what stage of menopause you are in. If you have symptoms then discuss the treatments with your doctor.

Danita

yes you can i was 30 years old when i did now i am 46

Is there a correlation between when you start your period amp when you have the menopause?

Ezra

I. e. if you start your perios early you menopause early, and vice versa?

Chere

i don't know to be honest. though it does make sense. as we only have so many eggs, therefore, we have so many periods. i have heard that it usually relates to when your mother had the menopause, generally, the daughter will have the menopause around the same time as her mother. which doesn't really help me, as my mother died when she was young. but i think you're probably right. it makes sense. try this site. if i find anything else i will come back. http://www. homehealth-uk. com/medical/men…http://womens-health. health-cares. net/me…

Is it possible to get pregnant after the menopause?

Grover

Someone I know said they were pregnant after the menopause by getting a serge of hormones?(and obviously after sleeping with someone) is this possible?

Krishna

From what I understand, it is not possible AFTER menopause, but DURING menopause -- and even more likely for multiple births at that time as well!

Francina

no

Ervin

Yes!!! more likely to have twins aparently???

Alfreda

I have never heard of this before but i guess anything is possible, i am 20 wks pregnant and my husband had a vasectomy 11yrs ago. sorry i could give more info

Brooke

lol caratoplis my dad had a vasectomy 20 years before I was conceived. Anything's possible.

Alec

Menopause is not the end of everything. Menopause is caused by hormone changes and it may be able to reverse due to hormone therapy. But it is generally believed that offspring out of ovum of old women is likely to have birth defects. It is possible to be pregnant in that way.

Hattie

It's amazing just how many women do get pregnant because they think they are "safe" during this time, usually they aren't in full menopause, just maybe haven't had their period for several months. My mom got pregnant with her sixth child when she was 45 - it was a very happy surprise for us all!

Cleo

Yes, the doctor told me its unlikely after around 48 years old but each month I panick as periods are very irregular, my grandmother had her first child at the start of the menopause and 5 years later her 4th child.

Are blood clots in a period a sign of the menopause?

Paul

I'm 40, never had children and have only been having blood clots for the last 8 months. Sometimes they are the size of the tampon. I can also suddenly have a very heavy 'flood' and the cramps can be very painful. The time between periods is also geting shorter but the periods themselves are no longer. Could it be pre-menopause? Or anything to be concerned about?

Gigi

i hope not... things like that happen to me sometimes and i am 23, but i never worried about it really because i have always had problems and my mum did too so i haven't really thought about it, having looked at some of your answers i think i might have too see my doctor about it :/

Basil

Usually, though, the clots are very small. If you are having quite big ones it just means that you have quite a lot of blood at the period. You should make sure you don't get anaemic by eating plenty of iron-rich foods or taking iron supplements. Clots don't mean there is anything wrong with you. Your far too young for menopause! It is normal - remember that you're shedding the blood lining of your uterus! I dont think its anything to be concerned about but maybe to put your mind at ease go to your gp or close family planning clinic. Your body's obviously changing because youve just hit 40.. Your body needs to adjust.

Margery

It sounds like you've had a change in lifestyle in some way. Are you on your feet more/less? Has your activity level changed in any way? are you stressed? Those are the things that change my period. I just recently read a great deal about menopause because I was wondering if I was going into it way too early and I didn't read anything about clotting.

Bryon

Blood clots are not indicative of the menopause. Fibriods, which become more common at your age are one possibility. However you do need to go and see your GP. Provided a recent smear is normal, the next investigation should be an ultrasound scan.

Diedre

I started Menopause at the age of 32....by 44 I was in the throes of it....passing pieces of liver...sorry to be so graphic...but true!!! Be careful and watch it..I almost became Anemic....I would only have approx. a week (if lucky) between periods. Good luck...HUGS!!

Charlsie

i dont think its a sighn on menopause, Thats normal sweaty nights. Chech this websitehttp://www. nhsdirect. nhs. uk/articles/article. aspx? articleid=246Very useful. x

Alana

Mine started clotting when I was like 14ish. All blood clots, thats what it does.

Bianca

i get blood clots and im only 23 so no i don't think its a sign of menopause

Isidra

If they are the size of a tampont hen you should probably see a doctor; I've never personally heard of that being a sign of pre-menopause or anything like that, but its worth getting checked out anyway. Especially if you have pretty bad cramps. You could have endometriosis or something like that, and it can get pretty serious if left untreated. You're a bit young for menopause I'd say, but I guess everyone is different!

What is the earliest a young woman can start experiencing menopause? ?

Danyell

I have noticed within the last several months my body has been changing, from hot flashes, night sweats, abdominal pain, long periods to short periods heavy flows, the worst back pain ever, swelling of the gum, joint pain the list goes on.

Ana

35.

Darell

i knew somebody that went thru it at 26 but that was after hysterectomy. you can hit it in your 40s, but more common in 50s. sounds like you've got a lot happening. might want to see doc for labs that can tell if your hormones have changed enough to do this to you. some of that sounds like transition to menopause but not all of it.

If you are a late bloomer do you also go through menopause later?

Lorelei

So I am 14 and a bit and I haven't gotten my period yet. My mum is like 52 or something and she still has her period, I thinks she was also a late developer. Is their any link between going through puberty late and going through menopause late?

Ada

Nope. Getting your period late has nothing to do with having menopause later.

Elna

No link but you will probably have a later menopause due to genes inherited from your mother.

Arminda

No link.

How do you know menopause has begun?

Asuncion

For the past 2 (two) years I have not been having regular periods. Within the past year I only menstruate once every three months. When I do it is very painful with all the gross moods etc. Am I going through menopause? I am 44 years old.

Cordia

you may be startiing menopause. It will be wise to see your doctor and have an ultrasound. The doctor will be able to assure you. I have just been through these medical tests. Good luckJ

Bev

I've been going through menopause for at least 10 years now. That could be the beginning stages for you, no one is the same.

Ilona

i now reached stage 2!!!

Arletha

It sounds to me like menopause. My Mother was through it by the age 41, and that's about the age I started it. I got to a point where I couldn't stand the hot flashes and night sweats anymore, as well as the mood swings. My family couldn't stand it either! Then a friend introduced me (gently) to Himilayan Goji Juice and told me that it may help as it is the only functional juice on the market with medical validation. I started taking 2 oz in the morning and 2 oz in the evening, as prescribed, and within a week the flashes were completely gone! I also hadn't been sleeping, terrible insomnia, and wasn't sure if it was because of menopause or my Mother passing away 2 years ago. The juice has helped me have deep restful sleeps ever since. Everything is now leveled off and I feel great! Because of my excitement with this product, I started a business with it and have been sharing it with diabetics, people with MS and many other ailments and have been seeing success everywhere!! If you are interested in this, please contact me, you will be glad you did!

What are some of the reasons for movement in the stomach of a 70 year old woman who is post menopause?

Elva

I have had movement in my stomach for over a month now. It doesn't hurt just annoying. It feels like I'm carrying a baby, but I know that's not possible. My stomach has become larger.

Delphia

Most likely it is just gas moving around in there. It could also be muscle spasms. Can you actually see the stomach move? If so, it is your muscles.
