After not having a menstrual period for five years menopause why would light bleeding occur?

Deon

I take a low dose hormone. My doctor says I don't have ovarian cancer because he cannot palpate my ovaries. I seemed to have a regular cycle, puffed up breasts, grouchiness, etc. Is this normal?

Jacqualine

Its pretty much a golden rule that post menpausal bleeding needs to be investigated properly.. the reason is to rule out endometrial or uterine cancer... not to worry u as its usually something else but it needs to be rule out as its the most dangerous cuase..apart from cervical cancer maybe..anyway u need a pap smear if u havent had one recently, a pelvic examination, a transvaginal ultrasound to check the lining of the uterus and a scope into ur uterus..go see a gynae please

Bonnie

your vagina is probably scared of that low dose hormone stuff because you have been taking it too long. im being serious.

Etta

CN gave you good advice. Hope you take it. Good Luck

What is the biochemical origin of menopause in women? can the symptoms be alleviated with drugs?

Chadwick

An oversimplified way to put it would be that ovaries have a shelf life. When their usefulness has ended, they quit producing estrogen, which leads to a long chain reaction. there are drugs on the market to relieve certain symptoms, but that doesn't mean any of them work. Suzanne Somers claims to have shut the process off entirely. She's either lying, or putting herself at risk for who knows what diseases as a result. I feel sorry for her because she has let fear take over.

Menopause?

Vikki

They say it is impossible for a woman to conceive once she has entered menopause. My friend was just told she is in menopause, and she is devastated beyond belief. She was trying to have a child. Have you ever heard of women conceiving after menopause?

Alberto

A friend of mine went into early menopause. She then conceived a year later!?!?!? Get a second opinion maybe. But definately get her to start on Chaste Tree Liquid. It can help to regulate hormones. Check out the HERB section of: http://www. marilynglenville. com/infertil…Chaste tree (aka agnus castus) is a very powerful herb & underestimated. Also try Cascade Cream - rub on tummy where ovaries are. I used both of these (Cascade for 6 months & Chaste tree for 12 months). They cured my pcos symptoms & I have a baby! I noticed them starting to work after only 3 months tho!! Once I stopped using them my cycle was always regular (before then I only ever got my cycle once or twice a year - if that). You could get both these items from a naturopath - otherwise try health shop or google them on the internet as I'm sure you can buy online. Let me know how she goes - don't lose hope!

France

Unfortunately once you are in menopause you stop ovulating and stop having period.... I don't know your friend's age but she could consider donor egg.... that if she is approved for the program base on the test they will recomend your friend to do. Good luck to your friend... I know how that feels from personal experience.... I am currently working with GIVF(www. givf. com) and I was matched with a donor in 2 months....

How long does it take fibroids to shrink after menopause?

Brianna

About a year ago, I was diagnosed with fibroids. Now that my course of menopause is about over, when will the fibroids begin to shrink?

Lavera

It could happen over the course of a few months (an example only), but I am going to include the link to a site that may help you find more information until you can check with your doctor. The link is at: http://forums. obgyn. net/womens-health
