What sedative can i use for my mother who is going through menopause?

Klara

lol.... http://answers. yahoo. com/question/index?…

Lyda

A tranquilizer gun?

Sharell

You can't sedate her. It takes years to go through it. Geez grow up.

Cammie

....in most cases, not only the menopausal woman needs tranquillizer, but those around her too..... Not to say, they are the ones who mostly need it...

Charlette

Have her turn a couple of your doorknobs.

Kathern

I think a sedative may be too much. You can instead try to make her relax and de-stress. Lavender has anti-depressant qualities and can be used in teas and some dessert foods. Mustard is a diuretic and a tonic. Thyme also has other good qualities which can help with menopausal symptoms. You can incorporate the above herbs fresh or dried into your food. Drinking lavender, chamomile and evening primrose tea can have a wonderful calming effect to relieve stress levels, which may rise during menopause.

Can breathlessness result from menopause or rather cardiac problems?

Jim

my mother is 62, her menopause started 3 years ago, she decided against hormonal therapy. she experience shortness of breath (need for taking a bigger breath) . her echocardiogram, blood tests and ekg did not show any problems, but those can not exclude heart problems i heard. should she undergo coronary computer angio to rule out heart problems? (but i know that level of radiation is huge 50-100 times normal chest x-raying....

Akilah

Firstly there is no link between breathlessness and the menopause. You give no details of her weight, smoking history, past medical history nor medication history if any. You don't refer a patient for angiography until they have had many other tests first, and then it is a secondary care decision. If her breathlessness remains unexplained she needs referred to either a cardiologist or a respiratory physician, depending on where her GP feels the problem lies.

Antonette

I bet you a dollar to doughnuts she smokes. There is your answer

Is 46 too young to be going through menopause?

Ariana

Cycle has pretty much come to a hault since I was 44 ( occasional cycles maybe every 4 months) but now nothing since october 2008. No hot flashes though,,, no signs of what comes with menopause. Any other reasons for it this to occur? I had severe stress ( husband passed away) in the last entire year.

Christene

My mom was in her early 40s and it was considered "normal", though a little early. Once you've had no period for 6 months your considered to be done them. If your not having anything like hot flashed, well either your very lucky or it COULD be stress. If your worried, talk to a doc, but for not I wouldn't worry. Good luck!

Delaine

No..menopause occurs in 40-50 age group so its normal

Susanna

No it's not - 40 plus is the normal age range. Although it could be down to stress as well - the only way to tell really is if you go to the doctor.

Earl

Nope, its normal.

Jonie

It could be menopause but it could also be the stress affecting your period. You might be going through a pre-menopausal stage.

Can girls get hot flashes before they reach menopause?

Marica

I know this girl and she said she gets them but she's only 21. Do you think that's true or not?

Laticia

It's called premetopause, her hormones are off track she should go to a hormone doctor.

Ilda

i get hot flashes wen i am in an awkward position, situation, fustrated (not sexually) or uncomfortable im 20

Birgit

I get them whenever I'm on my period but I have endometriosis. Either she is misunderstanding what a hotflash/flush is, or she has a hormonal imbalance.

When is the earliest a woman can start menopause?

Hermelinda

Can it start in their 30's? Or is that way too early?

Bernetta

Some women have been known to begin menopause in their 20's. Yes, it IS too early, but at the same time with all the hormones being injected into our foods and beverages, our bodies hormonal systems are out of whack. So yes, while 30's is too young, unfortunately it's far more common than people would think.

Noemi

depends on family history...some people get their periods really early so therefore they start menopause early. Say you get your period when you are 8-10..you will probably get menopause in your mid 30s - late 30s

Nikole

Women in their twenties can go into menopause and it is called premature menopause. The causes of this need to be explored by a doctor. Thirty is not unheard of but not normal so if you think this is happening you need to schedule an appointment.

Jennine

In some rare cases, menopause can be start during the early age. However it will be advisable to consult your doctor about the symptom you experience before you take any action to treat it.

Giselle

Every woman, since the dawn of humanity, has gone through menopause. Menopause is a natural event in every woman's life. You're not sick, but you sure don't feel good! Grandmother called it "the change of life." It's simply the body deciding you don't have to get pregnant anymore. Whee! That's the good part. Unfortunately, the transition from being a fertile woman to a healthy, happy non-fertile woman has some uncomfortable symptoms. You know what they are. You're probably experiencing them. Menopause can start from 30 - 40, depending with your health
