Symptoms of a Yeast Infection in Women - Know More

Yeast is a fungus present on normal human skin and other parts of the body that contain moisture like the mouth and the vagina. The introduction of yeast to the vaginal area or the increase will lead to vaginal yeast infection. The infection can also result from injury to the inner vagina or from the effect of conditions such as diabetes, pregnancy, oral contraceptives and use of douches. Women suffering from yeast infection will experience different types of symptoms. The most common one is itching or soreness of the vagina that may sometimes be accompanied by a burning sensation or pain when they urinate or have sex. Some of the women will have vaginal discharge. While this is not always present, it is usually odorless and is whitish and thick in appearance, similar to that of the cottage cheese. Most of these symptoms occur before the menstrual periods.
