CarbNews Women's Weight Loss Tips

We all remember the craze of low carb diets. People were binging on bacon, prime rib and pork chops. We all were avoiding rice, cereal and whole grains. While many of us were successful at losing weight, the weight loss was not sustained. The weight came back, with a vengeance. In the process, the low carb weight loss created muscle loss. Ultimately, we became flabby, skinny people or flabbier, fatter people.

Carbohydrates are not the enemy. If eaten properly, they can funnel your weight loss. Carbohydrates give the body energy and trigger the body to use fat stores for energy. Energy gives the body life. However, poor selection of the carbohydrates in your diet will take the body's energy. They will convert quickly to sugar and fat and drain your body, creating less life and more fat.  The key to losing weight when eating carbohydrates is to slow down your carbohydrate digestion. This is done by choosing your carbs wisely and by using carbohydrate helping supplements.

Carbs are a large block of the Standard American Diet. They are found in potatoes, bread, beans, fruits, cookies, pies; cakes, pasta, soft drinks, corn, juice, milk, chips, and rice. In fact, wherever there is the presence of sugars, fibers and starches, you will have carbohydrates. The most common and abundant forms are sugars, fibers, and starches.
