Are You Feeling HOT? Dousing the Flames of Menopausal Hot Flashes

Are you pathetic HOT, HOT, HOT?

The number single symptom menopausal women complain of is HOT FLASHES. I be in a state of uncertainty that's a big shocker to anyone version this article. And just so you perceive, I've heard just about every statement imagineable from women who try to give an account of their FLARE-UPs to me in the service. I love hearing them and own collected some favorites throughout the years what one I now look back on and smile near to.

Flinging the covers off at night, fanning like a crazy person, running the A/C in 50 station weather are all explanations talked near to day-in and day-out on all sides here. It's fun in the way that they describe the problem of stinging flashes, but I promise you there is a sincere cry for support when they get to the pique of seeing me to help lay open the problem. I remember a passive a few years ago that sat in the chair and dripped with sweat as I tried to conference her. It was sad to be in actual possession of to watch her suffer in that manner but there was an even greater enigma that the hot flashes had brought in an opposite direction. The affection of her spouse had dimished on this account that of her constant and profuse exudation. She felt half-human at that salient trait and really needed some answers.

So which happens when a "Hot Flash" strikes? (no pun intended... I told you I've heard them completely.) Vasomotor flushing is the technical term and happens when blood vessels in the pelt of the head and neck free to all more widely than usual, allowing other blood to shift into that superficies. This creates the heat and redness that a woman feels for the period of a "Hot Flash". The reasons with regard to the onset of the hot instant can be many, but usually are the flow of declining estrogens and rising levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). The positive problem is that one never knows at the time they are going to happen. NEWS BULLETIN!!!... Usually 'irascible flashes' will occur right during a portion very important or when you are in obverse of A LOT of people. (Murphys Law up?)

What should you do if you are emotion Hot, Hot, Hot?

Hormone testing (spittle is my preference) helps to regard as one the degree to which things are gone-of-whack and should always subsist used as a guide for care and handling. Everyday, I work with M.D.'s, Nurse Practitioners, and PA's from completely over the area and in other states who are greater quantity than welcome to call and argue your care plan with me. Why? Because a diligent should use only the hormones that are identified being of the kind which deficient and not something that is helpful and packed with unnecessary components by reason of their body. I suggest a full hormone panel before doing ANYthing in the cosmos of hormones. I suggest Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, and once DHEA and Cortisol levels to exist tested. Hormone testing just gives a just actions picture of what's going without interrupti inside. The other important part of the conduct is a patient interview. This helps in assessing possible reasons for the symptoms along by other health concerns and family narration information that might be contributing factors.

Throughout the years I bring forth been surprised a few times to behold that the problem was not estrogen, yet one of the other hormones (that I mentioned higher than) being out of balance. There hold also been a few times that the moot point was not hormonal, but a stress related condition for which I recommended herbal remedies and lifestyle changes. Honestly, it would be in possession of been terrible to put estrogen therapy ward board with these patients when estrogen wasn't the point to be solved at all. That's why I enjoy serving in the field of customized medicament. It's about each person and each need and it's why this domain of medicine is growing almost exponentially from top to toe the country. "Cookie cutter" medicine is of itself not the best approach to hormone therapies anymore.

To your pretty large health,

Dr Sonja
